2 Wheels Roll Into 4 Wheel Territory @ The Vermont Overland Rally
Shrinking the planet one ride at a time is a significant goal is it not? So is it always accomplished solely by traveling and interacting with those who travel only on two wheels as well? Of course not! The idea of adventure riding is to get out there, enjoy the planet, learn a little about others, share a little about yourself and perhaps in the exchange, learn a bit about yourself as well.
Our new Icelandic friends Sveinn and Gudrun help us out of a water crossing bind when my chain jumped the sprocket and jammed the rear wheel tight.
So it was with great delight that Kim and I have accepted an invitation from the community of Overlanders of both the 4 and 2 wheel variety to talk, share a few stories, and learn as much if not more than we can give. So on Saturday, September 22, 2012, from about 8:00 to 9:00 PM, Kim and I will be giving a “presentation” of sorts about our travels around and through Iceland. Well have a slide show and tell everyone a bit about what we experienced there and a little about us as well. More importantly, we’ll be there with eyes and ears open to listen and learn from what the people in attendance have to say about “overlanding”. I’m sure we’ll learn much more than we’ll ever be able to tell them.
So if you are interested in checking out a great overlanding event, check out the Vermont Overland Rally website and drop on by. It’s an entire weekend event so check it out! You can find info here:
So don’t let the fact that there will be 4 wheelers there put you off. This is an overland rally and people whose passion is going for “adventure rides” be they short or long, will be in attendance. We hope to see you there!
