Shrinking The Planet – One Ride At A Time

New KTM 690 Adventure For 2016?

There have been recent spy shots of a revamped KTM 690 Enduro circulating the web.  There’s much conjecture as to whether they represent KTM’s latest foray into the middleweight adventure bike.  Still seen as a single cylinder machine, the question is whether the spy shots represent a test mule or a running prototype preparing for a single cylinder middleweight adventure machine.

Whatever it is, it’s nice to see that KTM is considering a middleweight adventure tourer that is capable of running long distances without the size and weight of the full size adventure bikes.  The spy shots reveal a beefed up subframe, non linkage swingarm, and a right side exhaust.

KTM has gone on record saying that an middleweight adventure bike is coming but has been mum about its release date.  To cover long distances, a twin might make a better sense, but no-one could ever claim that KTM wasn’t unconventional.  It will be great to see what they come up with this time around.

For more details on this machine, you can review articles from VisorDown and Cycle World.  I can’t wait to see what KTM has up its sleeve.  Stay tuned for more info.
